Bright, strong colors, silly hats, etc.
Patterns, stripes, prints can be fun, and also make sure to bring some solids
Props work great
Formal clothes are really fun, whether they be bright or darker
For girls,
A dress is great. It can be casual or formal, and the longer the better.
Or you can go with slacks and a top. "Princess" dresses rock!
For boys,
A button-down shirt always works.
Overalls or jeans with a ashirt are good too.
Toss in a blazer and you can't miss!
Shorts and short sleeves work great on younger kids
Length of sleeves/pants...a simple rule is this: the older the child, the longer the sleeves or pants.
Finally, bring a lot of clothes - that way we can play around and try things out.
Check for $100 made out to 'Doernbecher Foundation'
Props if wanted - pets are great (especially for family sessions!)
Lots of clothes to choose from
Well-rested and fed children (and adults!)
An expectation of having a fun time!
If you haven't already scheduled your Review Session, bring your planner so we can schedule it then.
Schedule your session at a time of day where everybody is at their best.
Don't worry about smiles or poses - that is one of Charles' specialties.
Don't tell your kids to smile, it looks forced and fake.
Arrive 15 minutes early to make sure things work out.
My studio is in the Clackamas-Milwaukie area, just about 15 minutes from downtown Portland.
It's in the end of the building closest to Lake Road.
On Saturdays they lock this place up like Fort Knox, so you'll need to walk around to the entrance that faces Lake Road and push the special doorbell to the right of the doors and we'll come let you in.
I look forward to seeing you there,
Charles Waugh
