By having your kids in the Kids of Portland book you'll be helping the doctors at Doernbecher help the 50,000+ children they see every year.

The joy of children is beautifully infectious. I want to capture that joy and help more children to have that joy by helping Doernbecher.

The funnest is like...that I take pictures. I liked me doing the pictures and spinning around...I just don't want to say really anymore words.

Charles talks about why he started this project.

Hello again,

Let me give you some background on why I'm doing this project to help Doernbecher...

When I was 3 years old, I had open heart surgery to repair a congenital heart defect...thanks to the kind of research they do at Doernbecher...I'm here today.

Are you still unsure about your child being in the book?

Read what Miguel has to say about his daughter's portraits...

Dear Charles,

Today, I proudly received the book you created of my daughter Liliana.

This beautiful collection of timeless photographs encased in a quality bound book, simply took my breath away, as I realized that you too, saw the playful Princess that I, as her smitten father, have seen in her since she was born.

Time waits for no one and today, I saw my baby girl's innocent and playful spirit forever captured in this handsome book that I will be only too proud to share with family and guests until I pass it on to the adult woman Liliana will soon become.

As a seasoned law enforcement officer, I've always considered myself very much a man's man. Today, as my eyes gazed upon the glorious pages magically filled with my Princess's beautiful baby personality, I wept as a father in love with his little girl.

In gratitude for this timeless gift,

~ Miguel

Dr. Recht needs your help to save lives at Doernbecher.

Hello, my name is Dr. Michael Recht, and I'm a faculty member in the division of pediatric hematology and oncology and the director of the hemophilia center at Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

I work with children everyday who have blood disorders and cancers. By nominating your child to be in the Kids of Portland coffee-table book, you will be helping Doernbecher support the mission of not only our division but all the doctors and nurses and support staff at Doernbecher.

We just had our children photographed by Charles, and we had a blast. The pictures turned out wonderfully.

I want to thank you in advance for participating in this important project, supporting Doernbecher and all we're trying to do for the families and children.
